Scottish snooker great Alan “Angles” McManus joins Legends of the Cue for a wide-ranging conversation about his remarkable life in cue sports. Alan looks back on his Glasgow beginnings, early coaching, first century break, rise through the amateur ranks, and 31-year professional snooker career. He shares stories from the Crucible, his unforgettable 1994 Masters victory over Stephen Hendry at Wembley, ranking-title wins in Dubai and Thailand, and Scotland’s golden snooker era alongside Hendry and John Higgins.
Mike Gonzalez, Allison Fisher, and Mark Wilson also explore Alan’s transition into commentary, his Snooker Breakfast podcast, the evolution of modern snooker, Chinese talent, pool versus snooker, and his humorous memories of American pool rooms. Thoughtful, funny, historic, and deeply personal, this interview captures Alan McManus as player, tactician, commentator, podcaster, and one of cue sports’ great storytellers.
