Chris “The Magician” Melling joins Legends of the Cue for an unforgettable journey through one of cue sports’ most versatile careers. The two-time World Eightball Champion shares how a working-class childhood in West Yorkshire, relentless practice, and an extraordinary ability to see patterns shaped his game.
Melling relives his rise through English eight-ball and professional snooker, his emotional China Open victory, back-to-back winning Mosconi Cup appearances and 2012 MVP honors, and his memorable triumphs at the Derby City Classic and on the Ultimate Pool circuit. He also takes us inside the famous Mika Immonen clearance that helped cement his reputation for creative shot-making.
Beyond the titles, Chris speaks candidly about family, loss, gambling, mental health, friendship, the sacrifices behind a life in pool, and why he still loves competing. Funny, revealing, deeply personal, and rich with cue sports history, this four-part interview captures Chris Melling at his candid best.
