Two-time WPA Heyball Parasport World Champion Hydred Goldberg joins Legends of the Cue for a deeply personal and inspiring conversation about resilience, reinvention, artistry and elite wheelchair pool.
Born in London to Filipino parents, Hydred shares the story of her childhood, move to California and the 1993 automobile accident that left her paralyzed at age 18. She reflects on rehabilitation, learning to drive, moving independently to San Diego and discovering the game that would eventually take her to the top of international Parasport billiards.
Hydred also discusses her career in special-effects makeup, the old-school poolrooms that shaped her game, adapting technique and equipment for wheelchair competition, and her rise to become a two-time world champion. She opens up about her rivalry and friendship with Catherine Schneeberger, mentor Henrik Larsson, her love of 9-ball, Parasport advocacy and her dream of seeing cue sports in the Paralympic Games.
A remarkable life story, told in Hydred’s own words.
